Dark enlightenment nerds have been cooped up for too long without any real love or affection in their lives I think. Why is it more appealing to rule as a corporate overlord over a bunch of suffering robot/human hybrids who are fundamentally unhappy but efficient laborers than it is to live in a society where everybody has what they need to live a happy life? Like, would they rather take a nice stroll through East Village and see a bunch of sad robots or a bustling neighborhood full of happy people, smiling children, and tasty gelato? Both scenarios they still get to have more money than everyone else. Why is the goal here to take absolutely all of the money and live in a society full of sad robot hybrids? How is that even fun or fulfilling? It's like they were the only person to show up for their high school's senior skip day just so that they could be called class president for the day instead of just going and having fun at the party with everyone else. They would rather be king of the sewer instead of part of the society in paradise. Why are we letting these people have so much power?
